Welded Pipe work

We offer a full array of pipework options to suit your needs and fuel your future project, with 20 years experience in welding and commercial gas main installation, we are sure to be able to help you.

Welded Joints – Flanged & Fully Welded

At Purge Point Installations, we specialise in the design, installation, and testing of high-quality welded joints to ensure safe and reliable pipework systems. Whether using flanged connections for flexibility and easy maintenance, or fully welded joints for maximum strength and leak-tight performance, our skilled team applies industry-approved techniques to meet the highest safety and efficiency standards. Every joint is carefully inspected and pressure tested, giving our clients confidence in the durability and long-term integrity of their systems.

Threaded (Screwed) pipe work

Threaded pipework is viable up to 50mm (2″) for newly installed gas pipework under Gas safe regulations, you may come across much larger threaded gas mains but this is generally old existing installations, so if it is bigger than 2″ and you’re looking for an extension it would have to be welded or press fit to continue the installation.

At Purge Point, we install and maintain threaded (screwed) pipework in full compliance with IGEM standards, ensuring safe and reliable gas system performance. Threaded joints are typically used for smaller diameter pipework and low- to medium-pressure applications, where precision and safety are critical. Our engineers apply approved jointing compounds, correct tightening methods, and thorough inspection procedures to guarantee leak-free connections. Every installation is pressure tested and verified in line with IGEM/UP/ standards, giving our clients confidence that their pipework is both compliant and built to last.

press-fit Pipe work

At PurgePoint, we offer specialist installation of press-fit pipework systems such as Mapress for gas applications. Press-fit technology provides a modern, reliable alternative to traditional welded or threaded joints, delivering fast, clean, and secure installations with minimal disruption. Using manufacturer-approved tooling, our engineers create consistent, leak-tight joints without the need for hot works, making press-fit ideal for projects where safety, speed, and efficiency are priorities. All installations are carried out to IGEM standards and fully pressure-tested, ensuring compliance, durability, and long-term performance for commercial and industrial gas systems.

Press-fit comes in many different brands, it’s an ideal solution for where welding may not be viable in some cases such as ATEX rated zones, it offers a speedy and modern approach to pipefitting practices.

Testing And Purging

At Purge Point, we carry out the full range of testing and purging operations in accordance with IGEM/UP/1 and IGEM/UP/1A standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability across all gas and LPG installations.
Our services include:
Strength and Tightness Testing – using both hydrostatic and pneumatic methods to verify the integrity of new or modified pipework before commissioning.
Purging Operations – controlled purging of systems from air to gas, gas to air, or gas to inert, tailored to the specific requirements of natural gas or LPG systems.
Nitrogen Purging – using high-purity nitrogen as an inert medium to safely displace gas or air during commissioning or decommissioning.
Specialist Equipment – for larger mains, we employ nitrogen, compressors, or venturi purge ejectors, ensuring an efficient and safe purge process regardless of system size.
All testing and purging is undertaken by our qualified engineers, with detailed documentation provided to confirm compliance with IGEM/UP/1 standards. Whether preparing a new installation for service, decommissioning existing systems, or carrying out modifications, PurgePoint guarantees safe, efficient, and fully certified results.
